“"Incredible Purity of Fruit" — The 2013 growing season along California's True Sonoma Coast was incredibly even, providing enough sun exposure to ripen the Pinot Noir clusters just enough to create a beautiful expression of the Aston Estate. The long, warm days and cool nights allowed the grapes to achieve superb balance right before harvest. The temperatures along the Coast rarely exceeded 90 degrees and for the majority of the time stayed well below. In 2013, the fall rains held off until after harvest was over allowing us to pick at our leisure without the fear of inclement weather affecting the crop. Due to a successful flowering period and the long even ripening provided by an excellent summer, the production in 2013 was slightly less than the 2012 Vintage.

With over 2 years in bottle, this enticing Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is showing beautiful notes of dark berries and anise with a lace of cedar running through the nose. On the palate the wine is broad and deep with distinguished texture that keeps you coming back for more. This wine is easily approachable in its youth but displays the characteristics of a wine that will continue to develop and age gracefully.

"Well-proportioned, with a mix of herb cedar-laced dark berry, anise, and fresh loamy earth, this could use a year or so to soften.""
